When we came to Zurich from Athens we didn’t know where we’d end up and how our lives would change. We had with us our love for nature and art, our memories from Greece and everything else was more or less a greephos. Greephos (γρίφος in Greek) means riddle, a question or a problem that needs time and thought before solving. Untangling riddles requires out-of-the-box thinking and that’s what we tried to do.

If our story had a title it would be ‘’Ariadne’s thread’’. According to the myth, Ariadne’s ball of thread helped Theseus find his way out of the labyrinth. She advised him to tie one end near the entrance of the labyrinth and let the thread unroll as he delved deeper into the twisting and branching paths. Such a thread also showed us the way to find the light in our greephos.

This thread led us to the right material and people. It was a thread of silk that took us to Como, a city at the southern tip of Lake Como in northern Italy, well known for its history in silk production. In particular, our thread brought us to one of the oldest family-run silk industries in Italy with a long tradition in sericulture (since 1961). And finally this thread became the material  transformed into our silk scarves produced and printed in Como. Unique material blended with our inspiration and energy for creation.

Like this we found a way to combine our passions for fashion and photography. And from this final blend, greephos was born. Photographic pictures, graphically processed and digitally printed onto pure silk, are transformed to authentic scarfs, which preserve their unique value over time.

In our busy, fast-paced culture we focus on building a long term relationship with people who share the same passions and values like us. Through our high-quality scarves we want to become part of your stories and dress your unique moments and memories. Our wish is that the quality of our material and the finesse of our products can keep those memories alive for ever.
